Charity

Jaime has been involved in many charitable causes. Presently, he is a member of the National Advisory Committee for Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Awareness in Canada. The committee is a part of the Canadian Blood Services' initiative to create a National Bone Marrow Awareness Week in Canada.

Jaime has worked closely with the Canadian Blood Services (CBS) in the past. In October, 2006 Jaime recorded the first Public Service Announcement in the history of the CBS that focused specifically on bone marrow donation. Jaime was also instrumental in bringing together the Toronto Argonauts and the CBS to create the recent campaign that raised 500 units of blood during the Toronto Argonauts' 2007 season.

As a member of the Toronto Argonauts, Jaime was actively involved in the community. Jaime was a part of the contingent that regularly served hot meals at the Argonauts Breakfast Club at Monarch Park Collegiate. He was also a member of the "Frozen Boatmen" charity hockey team. In 2007, he helped organize a team of Toronto Argonauts employees that participated in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life.

In the spring of 2007, Jaime traveled to Tanzania where he spent one month volunteering for Cross-Cultural Solutions. His placement was at Akeri Primary School where he taught English to Grade Six and Grade Seven students.

In 2006, Jaime hosted the Kerry's Place 7th Annual Fundraising Gala in support of autism services in Ontario and in 2005 Jaime recorded a public service announcement for Horizons for Youth, a charity providing shelter to homeless youth in Toronto. The first charitable event Jaime hosted was the 2002 Genesis Fashion Show in support of Multiple Sclerosis research.

Jaime has also spent time speaking in schools about the role of media in our society.
